happy green fourth of july

just for fun, because it’s a holiday, i googled “fourth of july and green.” you didn’t think i’d find anything, did you?
this little article suggests ways to have a green party: i like the “bring a cup” and “non-garbage station” ideas.
or you can order green fourth of july t-shirts from cafe press and drink organic beer!

It certainly wasn’t that green at Ingersoll Centenial Park after the fireworks. The ammount of trash left where it lay was obscene. The citizens of this town should be ashamed of themselves.
On another note.
I heard a rumor that RRDisposal does not recycle plastic bottles with the caps still attached. Any truth to this??

I had gone there before I wrote the previous. Their site contains nothing specific to either prove or disprove the rumor.
You’ve got more pull than I. Give ‘em a call and ask.

i was getting to that.
i just called: yes, they ask that we take the caps off the plastic as a courtesy because it makes the bottles easier to crush, therefore saving space. but it is not mandatory. didn’t know that!

Thanks!
It’s amazing how rumors get started and then, like Topsy, just get growed.
