Cars and cookies: What do they have in common?

This week, Girl Scouts across the Rock River Valley will be tempting you to break your New Year’s resolution by selling their famous cookies.
They also will be carrying 7,000 No Idle Zone stickers, along with fact sheets about the effort for parents (encouraging them to turn off their car engines after 30 seconds of waiting at school, the bank or the drive-thru, for example).
The grass-roots effort kicks off late next month. Here is everything I’ve blogged about it.
