Go Green
Rockford Woman editor Jennie Pollock knows that we’re not going to transform our lifestyles overnight, but she looks for ways big and mostly small to protect our planet. Read about her experiences (she’s tried giving up plastic and meat, for example) and share your possible solutions here.

Do you wear your ‘green’ on your sleeve?

This post is just for fun:

One of my co-workers spotted a license plate that said “I GO GRN.”

While many people personalize their plates, and there’s an environmental plate available in Illinois to support our parks, how many of you make that kinds of eco-statement?

If you’re the driver of this car, let me know. And if you have similar “green” letters on your plates, share them, too!

While you’re at it, if you drive a hybrid, tell us about it, too. I might be in the market for one on the bigger end. Repeat, “might.”

I have had a goal for a few years now to purchase a new SUV on Earth Day, April 22. Then I wish to put a license plate on it, as soon as it is approved, that will say “Choose Life” as in available in most other states.

I have extended the “go green” idea to my Duffy Boat. It is all electric with up to ten hours on the water, and recharge overnight on a standard 120 v. outlet. It is lots of fun.

My plate is I GO GREN so maybe it wasn’t me that was noticed? My husband thought it would be fun to add a special plate number to the Escape Hybrid when we purchased it!

I like my hybrid but am not fond of winter when the miles per gallon drops! It is recommended that you NOT use cruise control when roads are icy/slippery. I’m looking forward to summer when I can get back to clear roads and the 33-35 mpg!

If it was my car, it’s easy to spot … I’m one of the few driving the speed limit.
