Green pride flag: Is this necessary?

Did you know there is a Green Pride Flag featuring six horizontal bars? For 50 bucks?
Per the press release:
“I’m personally working to lessen the negative impact I have on the environment and my businesses are built upon that commitment, as well. I’m proud of that and there are lots of other people and organizations doing the same thing and feeling the same way. I designed the Green Pride flag so that they have a way to show that they’re taking their commitment seriously and are proud of it,” said Mike Aaron, creator of the Green Pride flag.
This comes from the founder of Greensender.com, an eco-friendly gift/products site. Hmmm. Seems like a waste, but to each his own. Note: He has 153 fans on Facebook. Well, this is amusing, ala the Aretha “hat trick.”

I’m the founder of Greensender.com and the designer of the flag.
1) The inspiration came from talking with and working with a people who are working on a local level, with family, friends, neighbors and local officials to make their home towns more environmentally-friendly places to live. The enthusiasm, energy and commitment is impressive — those people are justifiably “proud”. They have “green pride”.
2) Why a flag? So many important social and political movements have a compelling, original symbol to rally around. it struck me that the environmental movement did not. Most default to a leaf or the standard recycling symbol.
3) Why $50? I agree, a little expensive. But it was manufactured in a very small quantity in the US by reasonably paid people — not a a massive quantity in China. Trust me, I’m not making a killing…
