Go Green
Rockford Woman editor Jennie Pollock knows that we’re not going to transform our lifestyles overnight, but she looks for ways big and mostly small to protect our planet. Read about her experiences (she’s tried giving up plastic and meat, for example) and share your possible solutions here.

If you use juice pouches in your children’s cold lunches, you can work with your school to create a recycling program like the Capri Sun Pouch Brigade. I may just do this myself. Or maybe I’ll just use a Thermos, which is a popular choice in my house anyway.

The school can earn 2 cents per pouch (Capri Sun, Honest Kids and Kool-Aid), and the program turns the pouches into gear like bags.
