		<description>The General Assembly had an opportunity to fix the pension problem last year in Springfield, but they opted to chicken out instead.

That lottery lease idea could have been the only good idea Blagojevich had last year in all that mess.

If you have debt - you have to pay it down.  But the General Assembly decided they would rather pay $2 billion more per year in interest than give up $600 million in revenue from the lottery.

Its basic math.  But I guess that is too much for our legislators to do...</description>
