The judge will see you now. Step into Springfield Bureau Chief Aaron Chambers’ chambers for an insider’s view on Illinois politics and government. No, Chambers isn’t a real judge. At least not in the sense of wearing a robe, wielding a gavel and issuing orders. But like a good judge, Chambers tells it like it is.The magistrate also will see you. Andrea Zimmermann, the Register Star's Statehouse intern, is a regular contributor to this blog.

The two Illinois Republican leaders and the Illinois Business Community are squandering a once-in-a-generation opportunity to dramatically improve Illinois in favor of Citizen interests.

This opportunity comes in the form of the Constitutional Convention vote in November. It is the most important vote on the ballot this year, and the political class and insider interests (Business and Unions) are hoping it will go away.

If Cross and Watson had a lick of sense, they would use the convention vote to advocate policies that most Illinois citizens support;

Recall
Binding Ballot Initiative
Government transparency
Term Limits
Pension Reform
Ending Gerrymandering
etc etc
___

Instead, these two leaders (and their flaccid party) conspire with the IBRT and the ILL CHAMBER to offer weak ideas and "prevent defense" nonsense. They seem to forget that they are down 40-0 in the 4th quarter, and the few fans they have left want them to "play to win".

Any one reading this post needs to know that Cross and Watson have so marginalized themselves and their party that it is up to Illinois Citizens to take the state back from corrupt spending interests.

Vote "Yes" for a Con Con in November.
