The judge will see you now. Step into Springfield Bureau Chief Aaron Chambers’ chambers for an insider’s view on Illinois politics and government. No, Chambers isn’t a real judge. At least not in the sense of wearing a robe, wielding a gavel and issuing orders. But like a good judge, Chambers tells it like it is.

Well, now I'd say my question has pretty much been answered. But thanks for offering to look into it!

So Madigan's now circulating "talking points" about impeachment to his members? (Per AP story) Looks like the ball just got a sharp nudge...

Great question.

I believe the House could convene a committee to consider impeachment.

I'll check it out and get back to you early next week. I'm taking Friday off.

The Illinois Constitution indicates that special sessions can be called either by the governor or by the leaders of both chambers (i.e. Madigan and Jones). I suspect, however, that it would be easier to herd cats across the Atlantic Ocean than to get Madigan and Jones to agree on calling a special session to discuss impeachment. Is there anything Madigan and the House can do on their own to get the impeachment ball rolling even if no special session is called?

A little research last Sunday, when I was fuming about the recommend legislative pay raise, produced the following information from the Board of Elections website. The 11 members of the Compensation Review Board have given $92,000 plus to various Illinois Democratic politicians since 2000. Buy me a board seat and I'll see you get your raises. What a mess this state is.
Elect NO incumbents.
