Organizers posted on the Friday Night Flix Facebook page that despite the deluge this morning, “Mamma Mia!” and Karaoke at Davis Park tonight haven’t been called on account of rain.
Not yet, anyway. But check back there - or here for that matter - later today to see if it gets rained out.
Your other option is to call the RAVE Hotline for updates at (815) 489-8207.
In case you don’t know, Friday Night Flix is a free event in Davis Park that are part of busy downtown Friday nights this summer.
It all starts with the popular Rockford City Market along Water Street between State and Jefferson streets. Drawing more than a thousand people a week, the City Market has grown to 30 vendors. They sell organic produce, arts, unique crafts, delicious baked goods and Wood Fire Brick Oven Pizzas that you have to try.
The Market is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is on rain or shine. Even the week they closed it because of a downpour, stalwart vendors continued to sell piping hot pizzas and other items.
Soulful jazz artist Harlan Jefferson plays live music starting at 3:30 p.m. on the parking deck; Bella Luna Bakery will have cannolis; The Cheese People of Rockton will have antique cheddar that’s apparently the best that can be found from Wisconsin; and Northwoods Premium Confections will have a $3 special and feature pretzel rods coated with handmade caramel.
