Backup generators kick in at Excelon’s Byron plant

Not long ago I asked the question if we knew how to respond to a nuclear crisis in northern Illinois.  Living just minutes from Byron, I know I’ve never been given instruction on what to do if something occurs at the power plant.

The good news is, we still have time to learn, because the emergency generators have kicked in to provide power since the electricty went out this morning.
