Gas Guzzlers

With all the troubles that our U.S. designers and manufacturers of autos are having, it struck a nerve with me when I read the recent issue of Consumer Reports. My wife and I have relied on this magazine for years for good advice on many of the products and services that we have purchased through the years.

This issue rates the top autos with the best fuel efficiency expressed in miles per gallon (mpg). They rated 32 autos and 30 of them were designed and manufactured by Asian companies such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Hyundai. Only 2 of them were American! And of course, many of them are built here in the U.S.A.
