Rock Valley College has unveiled a new program called the Golden Eagle Electronics (GEE). Using the Congressional Earmark Grant, expected to be available this fall, RVC will attempt to enroll students and companies and start a group of 15 students every Fall Semester.

Students would work half-time and be full-time students. Local companies would sponsor one or more students by paying tuition and the cost of textbooks. Local companies would hire the student(s) part-time.

Students would be taking classes from Rock Valley College’s Electronic Engineering Technology Degree. This degree includes classes in DC/AC Circuits, PLCs, Sensors, Transducers, Signal Controlling, Advanced Microcontrollers, Electric Motors, and Wireless Electronics. It would take two years to complete this degree.

Companies such as Ingenium, Haldex and Danfoss have indicated their interest in this program. To learn more please contact: Stan McCord at Rock Valley College; 815-921-3064 or s.mccord@rockvalleycollege.edu.
