Rock River Valley manufacturing experts discuss the many facets of manufacturing: technology, education, training, events, people and any other aspects of this important segment of our economy. They’ll use this blog to get the word out and solicit feedback on local and global manufacturing. They hope to better engage our employers, employees and our future work force and increase their understanding of manufacturing.

Sweden Delegation Update

September 15th, 2008 at 06:47pm Bob Trojan

Well, by the time you read this, the delegation will have had a nice dinner at the SACC-USA Anniversary Banquet.  Do you suppose they’re eating lots of fish?  Or they’re probably talking about the high technology of Swedish companies.  Maybe drinking glugg?

Well in any event, I’m sure that it was  interesting evening.

Here’s Tuesday’s Agenda….

Tuesday 16th 7 AM Departure Hotel Haga to the E-days
7.30 AM-5PM E-days conference
7 PM Dinner with the delegation

I like the fact that Rockford and the regional community is going after business and marketing ourselves to the world. Sweden should be a natural as well as China, Korea, and Japan. It also sounds like the trade show in Chicago garnered some good contacts with Canada and the Czech Republic.

On this marketing trips, are we also alert to opportunities for distribution, tourism, air cargo and air passenger service, etc as well as manufacturing ?

I wish everyone great success on this trip.

Yes, as you can see from their web site below, the County Chairman, the Convention bureau, the Econ Development, Mayor, etc. are on this trip, so they will be alert to any of the areas that you ask about.
