Feather in RVC’s CAP

October 14th, 2008 at 01:46pm Michael Cermak

Bolstered by a successful program (GEM) with Woodward, RVC is bringing back the Career Advancement Program which dates back to the sixties. The goal is to connect college students with companies so what goes on in the RVC classroom links to the place of employment.

The large crowd gathered at the October 10 kick-off meeting was proof that workforce development is seen as a foundation to the region’s success. Greg Wear, RVC Dean, and other college representatives presented the goals of the new CAP program.

Companies interested in being a part of CAP should call Associate Dean Richard Gocken at 815.921.3055.

Thanks for the mention Michael! As a result of the October 10 meeting we have expanded the Golden Eagle Manufacuring (GEM) program to include another local manufacturying company who is planning on sending 6 new workers! We are also creating the Golden Eagle Electronics (GEE) program for the Rockford area electronics manufacturers needs.
