The odds of being dealt a Royal Flush are 1 in 649,740. Some might argue the odds of getting high school students to attend school 98% of the time might be worse, but District 205 students attending the new ACE High School are beating the odds with their exemplary attendance.

I haven’t seen the details of the latest proposal which now comes in at $850 billion, but I saw that $500 billion was targeted towards Job Creation. Let’s see, in my world, labor accounts for about 10% ($50 billion) of the cost of industrial equipment. If an average laborer makes $30,ooo per year this equates to about 1,600,000 jobs ($50 bil. divided by $30K)… IF ALL THE $500 billion is spent in one year. If it is spent over 2 years, then the annual job creation is 800,000 jobs per year; if over 5 years, the it’s 320,000 jobs per year.
Obviously, if the labor content is more than the 10%, then the jobs per year would increase. You can do the math, but I thought this might be of interest to those who wonder about Job Creation.
I’d be interested to see another approach.

I saw some question about why the US should tax the wealthy…some more. As if the Wealthy don’t get taxed enough? Take a look at this data…

Did you know that the top 10% of filers pays 70.8% of Personal Income Taxes? That the top 25% of filers pays 86% of taxes?
So should they get taxed some more?
I lived through Margaret Thatcher’s early regime when the taxes were so high that people would say…”why should I work harder to make more money, when the government takes away most of it? She of course, reduced the tax rates and like Reagan, the economy began to grow.
Maybe that’s what we’ll see starting Wednesday?
