What Legacy Will We Leave Behind?

Returning from a week long education session in Florence, Italy, I pondered what I could say that relates to this blog site.
Florence is filled with many churches, museums, architecture, art and sculpture that comprises the works of many creative individuals who “manufactured” them. During the 13th through the 16th centuries, there was also much political unrest and changes in the form of government, ranging from republicanism to tyranny. The politics changed but the works of these creative individuals and their “manufactured products” did not. We marvel at the works, think about the struggles and leave there with a greater understanding of their accomplishments.
Here in the U.S. when something gets to be 50 years old, we tear it down and rebuild something entirely different.
I now wonder, what legacy will we in the U.S. leave behind?
