Manufacturing 2.0
Rock River Valley manufacturing experts discuss the many facets of manufacturing: technology, education, training, events, people and any other aspects of this important segment of our economy. They’ll use this blog to get the word out and solicit feedback on local and global manufacturing. They hope to better engage our employers, employees and our future work force and increase their understanding of manufacturing.

Women of Today’s Manufacturing Camp (sponsored, this year, by Nuts-Bolts-Thing-a-ma-jigs (FMA)) has followed TechWorks to the Eigerlab. This will add a new aspect to camp—rapid prototyping. The dates are July 20th through July 24th, 2009. The cost is $10, paid to Women of Today’s Manufacturing. To sign up you have to get an application from Barb Bishop at North American Tool. Or Teresa Beach-Shelow at Superior Joining Technologies, Inc. The camp is a fun filled week where students (guys and girls), going into 7th, 8th and 9th Grade, learn about manufacturing. They start with safety, Solidworks CAD programming, move out to the machines—mills and lathes then a tour of a local manufacturing facility. By Friday they want the camp to last another week! Camp is limited to 10 students and fills up fast!
