Next Generation Manufacturing - Supply Chain & Collaboration

Add comment July 13th, 2009

You can no longer operate in a vacuum and only worry about your business. You need to be considering the entire supply chain. Managing a supply chain and partnerships that provide flexibility, response time and delivery performance will allow you to set yourself apart from your competition. You have to worry about your customers and your suppliers. Although a large set of respondents to the Next Generation Manufacturing survey indicated this area was very important to their business, many of these same businesses are not realizing the kind of world class results one would expect . Although companies claim high importance, they aren’t necessarily making the needed investment in infrastructure and people that will help them gain competitive advantage. As businesses become more complex and as inventories decline and speed to market becomes more important, working to build partnerships throughout your supply chain will be another way you can advance and excel in your business.
