I just received a letter from the University of Illinois College of Engineering, Dept. of Mechanical Science and Engineering, my Alma Mater, which stated in part…”we are experiencing record enrollments, approaching 1000 undergraduates. The number of undergraduate applications to our department has increased dramatically. We became the most sought-after program in the College of Engineering by incoming freshman, with a concurrent increase in required entrance scores”
It was pleasing to receive this news when most of the time we hear about declining enrollments in engineering schools. Maybe U of I is unique but remember earlier reports that NIU College of Engineering also reported increased enrollments and I understand that RVC also has seen an increase!
Whatever the reason, this combined news is far better than declines in enrollments!
