From today’s RRStar…
Winnebago High School’s robotics team is close to winning another competition.
Winnovation is one of six semifinalists in the Safety Animation Contest sponsored by FIRST, the organization that runs worldwide robotics competitions.
The winning animation will be announced Wednesday as part of the kickoff of the FIRST Robotics Competition. That’s when kits of robot parts will be sent to nearly 2,000 teams competing.
Winnovation finished in the top 100 of robotics teams worldwide in 2009’s championship, and has made the championships four of its five years.
Rockford Robotics also made the top 100 last year and will compete this year.
