When film critic Will Pfeifer isn’t watching movies, he’s reading about movies, talking about movies, thinking about movies or dreaming about movies. Now he shares that unhealthy obsession with you. From Hollywood hits to Japanese obscurities, from Oscar night to the summer season, he’s got movies on the brain — and on this blog.

Will,
STAR WARS is by no means a "little art film". It's a documentary:

Brian -- You're right, DIE HARD is a true classic and its sequel isn't bad. (I even like the third in the series, right up until its nonexistent ending). And the first two are set during Christmas, though DIE HARD takes place in sunny LA.

Bob -- Yes, I was kidding. There's no way to indicate sarcasm on these blogs, except for those stupid emoticons, which I refuse to use. I love STAR WARS, but it's definitely no "little art film"

Movie Man, were you serious when you describe Star Wars as an "art film"? I've never heard it called that before.

Let's not also forget another couple of Christmas-in-July blockbusters: Die Hard (one of the greatest actions movies of all time), and it still-good-but-inferior sequel Die Hard 2: Die Harder). I distinctly remember seeing those flicks in the oppressive heat of summer and thinking how nice it was to sit in a cool theater and imagine it was winter for a couple of hours.

The soundtrack in question is Bill Murray's Meatballs, which came out in 1979.
