Stan Winston, RIP

Special effects master Stan Winston died Sunday at the age of 62. If you ever loved movies, odds are you loved the work of Stan Winston, even if you never heard his name.

Among his insanely long list of credits, he created or helped create the monsters in THE THING, ALIENS, PREDATOR, JURASSIC PARK, GALAXY QUEST, AI, BIG FISH, the TERMINATOR movies and dozens of others. Most recently, he’d worked on IRON MAN and his company was working on TERMINATOR SALVATION, which arrives next year.
