Who’s watching the WATCHMEN? I sure am!

If you get sick of reading about WATCHMEN between now and next spring, when it opens, I apologize in advance — but as a comic book fan who devoured the original series when it was published way back in the mid 1980s, I’m jazzed about the movie. Yes, I realize it could be a completely dud, but so far, director Zack Snyder and crew seem to be hitting all the right notes.
Take, for instance, these new promo posters Warner Bros. has released. They capture the mood of the story perfectly, probably because they’re photographic recreations of posters original artist Dave Gibbons drew 20 years ago to hype the comic. Well, most of them are. This one, featuring Carla Gugino as the original Silk Spectre, is completely new — but somehow captures the humor, nostalgia and spirit of the others. And who’s going to complain about Ms. Gugino dressed up as a superhero? Not me!
Check out the rest of the posters here.

I think Snyders track record with graphic novels is doing well so far. if you have ever read Frank Millers “300″ and seen the movie, it reflects so well, and he captures the image that the novel created. When i first saw the trailer for “Watchmen”, my heart skipped a beat! I am sure that with the imagination of Snyder and his dedication to the original works, this film will be amazing! its just a shame that the original author Alan Moore wants nothing to do with it. unlike Miller’s involvment with “300″ and “Sin City”, i think Moore’s involvment in the “Watchmen” would only make it better.

Love the books so I’ll see it based on that alone.
I think the trailer is good, but not outstanding. The WATCHMEN website and posters/stills sell it more for me personally. Even if they screw it up by truncating the narrative too much, I have to see how they interpreted it.
And on the big screen of course.
