I’m still trying to decide about buying the new edition.
I have the original Criterion dvd and I don’t know if the extras are good enough to warrant buying twice.
that said, maybe my favorite non-samurai kurosawa movie.

And speaking of Kurosawa samurai movies, if anyone is unfamiliar with his work, they should check out the famous Seven Samurai and the not as famous Hidden Fortress. HIdden Fortress is notable as the story George Lucas adapted (plagiarized?) and used as his first draft for Star Wars. When you see the two peasants, think R2 and C3PO..
