Comments on: Sofia Coppola? Really?

When film critic Will Pfeifer isn’t watching movies, he’s reading about movies, talking about movies, thinking about movies or dreaming about movies. Now he shares that unhealthy obsession with you. From Hollywood hits to Japanese obscurities, from Oscar night to the summer season, he’s got movies on the brain — and on this blog.

Sofia Coppola for me as well. My life hasn't been that exciting. I guess she's not perceived to make exciting movies.

Okay, I got Nicolas Coppola. This can't be right.

178%action, 4% comedy, -50 on complex plot. $120,000,000 million budget? Must be for all the hairpieces.

I don't know why the story of my life would inspire someone to give Ed Wood 22 million dollars, but I guess there must be something

I actually took the quiz twice -- once yesterday and once today -- and got her both times. Two friends of mine at work got David Lynch and Ed Wood Jr., both of whom I'd love to see direct the movie of my life. In Ed's case, it would be a little tough because he died decades ago, but at least we know the budget would be reasonable.

The more I think of it, the more I like Ed Wood directing my biopic!

OK, I'm suspicious: I got Sophia Coppola, too. Actually, thought, I've loved all of her films. The breakdown was interesting: 61 % action romance, 23 % comedy, 23 % complex plot, $28,000,000 budget. Was yours the same? If I took the quiz under another name, would it still end up the same?

OK, now I KNOW this test is completely off the mark. I got Sofia Coppola as well. I, however, HATED Lost in Translation, found Virgin Suicides fairly lame, and will never even bother seeing Marie Antoinette (or any future films she makes).
Sometimes these quizzes are fun, but when they are SO far off, it just seems random and pointless.

Me? I could see John Hughes (back when he was funny), Kevin Smith, or even Peter Berg. I'd love to see Joss Whedon's take on my life, and just for kicks maybe a crazy Baz Luhrmann musical version.
