When film critic Will Pfeifer isn’t watching movies, he’s reading about movies, talking about movies, thinking about movies or dreaming about movies. Now he shares that unhealthy obsession with you. From Hollywood hits to Japanese obscurities, from Oscar night to the summer season, he’s got movies on the brain — and on this blog.

I wonder if we're entering an age when the line between effects and makeup becomes so blurry it's hard to know what to give the award for.

Benjamin Button should definitely win for effects, but I'm not sure about makeup. Check out THIS VIDEO on how Benjamin Button did it. We already figured it was Brad's face on other bodies, but it would seem even the aging was done through CGI, not makeup. Brad just did some of those performances sitting in a chair with his normal face.

Similarly, the younger-looking Pitt and Blanchett were performed by them, but de-aged through CG like they did with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKelan in X-MEN 3.
