Movie Man
When film critic Will Pfeifer isn’t watching movies, he’s reading about movies, talking about movies, thinking about movies or dreaming about movies. Now he shares that unhealthy obsession with you. From Hollywood hits to Japanese obscurities, from Oscar night to the summer season, he’s got movies on the brain — and on this blog.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post celebrating the 10th anniversary of THE MATRIX. Well, a lot has changed in that decade, not the least of which is the appearance of MATRIX co-creator Larry Wachowski. Here’s a photo from years ago, with his brother, Andy (Larry is on the left)…

and here, from Us Magazine of all places, is a current photo…

I don’t care if you’re a man or a woman, Larry/Lana. I just never want you to make another movie like THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS, OK?

I’ll take REVOLUTIONS over RELOADED any day, though. REVELUTIONS was enjoyable for any scene NOT featuring the lead characters, for example defending Zion against the invading sentinels. But anything with Neo, Trinity, etc, was just boring. RELOADED on the other hand, had no such oasis of enjoyment. It was nothing but over-philosophical self-important babble, with surprisingly boring action scenes sprinkled throughout.

But more than either of those, I’d say I don’t care if you’re a man or a woman, just don’t ever make another movie like SPEED RACER.
