Here, courtesy of pop culture artist Dan Meth, is a timeline of movie futures stretching from A CLOCKWORK ORANGE (which, believe it or not, took place 14 years ago) to DUNE (which takes place a long, long time from now).

Today’s remake news: THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN

According to the Risky Biz Blog over at the Hollywood Reporter, there’s a remake of 1935’s THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN in the works, to be written and directed by Neil Burger, who performed the same duties on 2006’s THE ILLUSIONIST.

THE ILLUSIONIST wasn’t a bad movie, but it had the bad luck to come out at roughly the same time as THE PRESTIGE, the other — and much better — duelling magician movie. (Also, the plot twist of THE ILLUSIONIST was basically that there was no plot twist.) I’m sure THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN will be modernized, sexed-up and CGI-ed within an inch of its life, but until then, let’s enjoy this bit from the (still brilliant) original…
