Movie Man
When film critic Will Pfeifer isn’t watching movies, he’s reading about movies, talking about movies, thinking about movies or dreaming about movies. Now he shares that unhealthy obsession with you. From Hollywood hits to Japanese obscurities, from Oscar night to the summer season, he’s got movies on the brain — and on this blog.

The Morlocks are back

Add comment October 13th, 2008

I’m not sure why I couldn’t call up the site for The Movie Morlocks, but whatever the problem was it’s been fixed. The Morlocks are the official bloggers over at the Turner Classic Movies site, and they’ve always got something interesting to say. Most of the discussion naturall focuses on older films, but there are posts about newer flicks, too. If you’re a movie fan, you owe it to yourself to check them out.

I highly recommend this post on the very obscure movie BLOOD MONEY and its complicated star, George Bancroft. Having caught the movie on Fox Movie Classics a couple of weeks ago, I highly recommend it — and will post an alert if I see it’s airing again.

The Cooler is worth your attention

I stumbled onto an excellent movie blog lately that I’d like to recommend: The Cooler, which is subtitled “cinema ruminations by Jason Bellamy.”

I’d never heard of him before, but Bellamy is a thoughtful film fan who has some interesting things to say about the career trajectory of Kevin Spacey, the self-defeating influence of PULP FICTION, the work of M. Night Shyamalan and other intriguing movie-related topics. Check it out — there’s a lot of good reading to be found.
