Frank Haney, running for Rock Valley College Trustee, has endorsed Next Rockford’s platform of advocating for improvements in the region’s business environment, education, urban development, cultural offerings, and civic engagement.
“One of the main goals of Next Rockford is to play an active role in moving our community forward and we can jump-start that process by connecting with candidates that share our vision” says Chris Weber, Next Rockford Education Committee Co-chair. “Frank Haney is one of those people; he has a clear vision of the importance of Rock Valley College, not only to the students within our area, but also the businesses looking for their next generation of educated employees.”
Next Rockford has this initiative to encourage elected officials and candidates to support the organization’s platform. The platform endorsement process was developed to educate public officials on issues of importance to the Next Rockford membership and encourage them to advocate on the group’s behalf. Next Rockford members are working on numerous issues including promoting economic revitalization and industry diversification; helping grow area businesses and attract new business; developing a thriving public school system; encouraging investment in the downtown region; supporting arts and cultural initiatives; and encouraging civic engagement and volunteerism.
