Tim Rollins, running for sub-district B of the Board of Education of Rockford Public School District 205, has endorsed Next Rockford’s platform of advocating for improvements in the region’s business environment; education; urban development; cultural offerings; and civic engagement.
“It is a goal of the Next Rockford Education Committee to partner with school board candidates that will lead our district forward in a complex environment that is unique to Rockford.” says Doug Burton, Next Rockford Education Committee Co-chair. ”We are excited to have a candidate like Tim support the platform who is very active within our community, serving on and leading many volunteer organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and Alignment Rockford.”
Next Rockford has this initiative to encourage elected officials and candidates to support the organization’s platform. The platform endorsement process was developed to educate public officials on issues of importance to the Next Rockford membership and encourage them to advocate on the group’s behalf. Information and the endorsement form can be found on the group’s website at http://www.nextrockford.org/index.php?page=government-affairs
Next Rockford members are working on numerous issues including promoting economic revitalization and industry diversification; helping grow area businesses and attract new business; developing a thriving public school system; encouraging investment in the downtown region; supporting arts and cultural initiatives; and encouraging civic engagement and volunteerism.
