Tomorrow is prom! exciting! I left school today at 12:30 and went to decorate. That was a lot of fun.  Well, until I electrocuted myself. That wasn’t too fun.  Prom is going to look amazing, I’m glad I decided to help decorate. I finally talked my mom into letting us go to JMK Nippons for dinner. We made reservations last night. I ordered his  flower today, I’m a little late, I know. We’re taking pictures at Rock Cut tomorrow, thats where we went last year and the pictures turned out beautiful. I just can’t wait! Prom means schools almost over! Only 3 more days after prom! YES! I will update with prom pictures =)

High school = Done…

With everything that has happened throughout my high school career, i never thought i would get the opportunity to say “I’m finally done!”… But is it all that it is spiked up to be?!” For the most part….. Yes, you are out of high school(forever), and your really your own person now, but what about the friends you just left behind. Being that I made the move to North, there weren’t many of us seniors, so I resorted to making friends with juniors…I spent the endless school days with some select people that I am afraid that I will never see again after I am gone and moved to the South! Everybody always say, “Friends in high school hardly make it for a lifetime!?” Is this true? If so I am scared half to death.. I made really good friends! Some who know an insane amount about me.. There’s always room to try though!

I am definitely excited about everything though.. Graduation..Move in a little over a month…. New area… and the whole college atmosphere! It will be an interesting lifestyle change I think! Good one though!

Two days!

There are two days until prom! I can’t wait! So this year I’m thinking we don’t do one of those lame parties after prom that my friends are throwing. I think we will just go to post prom at school. There is a theme this year for post prom, the theme is the beach. I haven’t decided what to wear for that yet, but the best costumes a neat prize. I’m thinking that I just want to wear my swim trunks and a swim top, or I might see if I can borrow one of my life guard friends uniforms. Then I would buy a whistle,a little life saver, and then a visor. That would be cute, so I hope one of my friends will let me borrow it. Yay! Two days!

Here’s a video I found…. The song is by Hellogoodbye… It talks about the prom being on the 17th of may, just like my prom! Cool!

…and its all done. No more dances. Senior Prom was great! It was just as I expected..I took quite a few pictures that night, some of which turned out, others well, lets call it operators error. At one time we couldn’t figure out why my camera wasn’t working until we realized that it was on video mode. We felt pretty cool after that !!  We had it at Cliffbreakers, everything included. Amazing! The night started out slow going waiting for food and drinks, but as soon as 8:05 p.m. hit, it was rock and roll time! I had a lot of fun hanging out and being with my friends for one last dance and probably one of the last times that I see them…

Now with prom out of the way, next thing is graduation!!!! I’ve got three days left of school and a little over a week until the commencement and the party!! Its all coming to an end so fast though.. Not enough time it seems like for the last minute plans that I have while still a high school student.

Anticipation at its finest

The day has come! All students spend every waking moment of the day trying to finish up on their dresses/tuxes. Getting the flowers, the last minute dinner arrangements etc. Luckily, everything is taken care of. Minus the $12 fee that i had to pay for the color change of my tux (thanks Lisa!) and the $30 corsage that i stillneed to get! Tonight will be great none-the-less.. It is owed to everybody who put it together, and Cliffbreakers for letting us take over for a night!!!!

Have a great time to everybody that’s going!

Stay Safe!

Food covered…time for that flower

Add comment May 8th, 2008 04:59pm Matt Yardley

So, we have food covered…(must eb the new tradition for all to eat where prom is at), but the next question is where to get the flower? I live in Belvidere.. There’s the Flower Bin, Barr’s, Potting Shed. … etc. Where is the best? Anyone is particular? I’ve been trying to think.. And what shoudl be in the flower? Rhinestones? Or just beads? I guess last year I left it up to the employee to do what she thought was best, and then paid… maybe i should just do that this year! Random though! Two days!!!

Food?

The question on most peoples mind when it comes to prom is where do we go for dinner? Thats a very good question. I don’t exactly have the answer for that. My boyfriend and I have been thinking of about a million places to go for dinner and we can’t decide on one.  Do we go somewhere that will have a lot of people or not? To begin with we wanted to go to JMK, but my mom told me no, because she didn’t want me to smell like smoke, so that one is out. We thought about Linos, Olive Garden,Giovanis,Di Giovanis, and a ton more, but we have no idea where we will go. Where to go? Does anyone have any better ideas? I didn’t think dinner would be such a huge deal.

True colors

It’s the final stretch….

Finally inside from a great day outside, body burnt, feet aching, ready for some decent sleep, i come inside to a log awaited rest. Much to my surprise i got a text. Not just any text though, it was from my prom date, Lisa. She had informed me that what she told me about her dress was completely wrong. Instead of it being baby blue, it was actually a deep blue. “GREAT,” I thought to myself. ” This would be my luck!” I started thinking about the unenthusiastic lady at the tux shop informing of the fine there would be if i messed up and needed a different color! And of course, if anyone, it would’ve been me! So now i have to trek to the mall tomorrow after school, beg the lady to let me change my color and hope all goes well!

On a lighter note.. less than a week.. and I am insanely excited!

I hope everybody else has enjoyed their prom, or enjoyed just being out!!

Yes! A group!

1 comment May 1st, 2008 07:54pm Sarah Wieland

I finally have a group! To begin with I thought going solo seemed pretty cool. I mean who doesn’t want to be alone with their date? But going with a group is tons of fun! I didn’t think I would have a group, until yesterday that is. On the bus my friend asked if I wanted to be in her group of about six. I said sure! Now we just need to decide where we are going to go for dinner….Hmmmm. I’m so excited for prom now! I just can’t wait!
