Our Time
The Register Star asked two teenagers, one from Belvidere North, and one from Rockford’s East High, to share their joys, their worries, and their dreams about prom, graduation and more as key moments in their lives come and go.

Does size matter?

Big Group?  Or small group? Usually teens like to go with all of their friends to prom, but should there be a limit to the group size? I think that keeping the group smaller keeps everybody closer to have a better time than to have a large group and trying to make sure that everyone is happy and no one is getting the feeling of being left out. I thought about this after my date told me that we would be going with atleast 13 people. “Woah!” Maybe I’m wrong, but i think that groups should be of at most six or seven. Just my ideas though!

So, I have a question…as a photographer I wondered, what about the people who do not go with dates? Do they get their picture taken like everyone else- in a group maybe? Or perhaps they just skip that part — and in that case, what a shame. I have a studio in Cherry Valley and thought to offer photo sessions especially for prom-goers- those who want a group shot, those who want more than 4 seconds of professional photos, especially those who will go with friends rather than a date …. what do you think??
