This is too funny. Video captured in 1995 of Brett Favre, Don Beebe and Frank Winters trick or treating at Mike Holmgren’s house. A portion of this appeared on the NFL Network last year in a special about the best Super Bowl teams.
Warning: There’s salty language used in the comments on the video.

the term shred is cool in x games. but not when you mean packer tickets.

because we have bears fans here at the paper, too, we’ve talked about doing a story about “packer haters” … people who just can’t stand what’s going on right now. if you’re one of them, tell us why at onlinenews@rrstar.com, and keep it clean.
i have to point out, though, that even seattle can’t hate green bay.
(this is what i came up with on a “hate the packers” google search.)

Matt Hasselbeck is a good interview. He unveils a lot about Brett in this NFL Network segment. Apparently, the future Hall of Famer doesn’t always practice good manners.

It’ll be cold. No doubt. But cancel the game? Not gonna happen.

It’s true. I’ll say a little prayer for the green and gold Sunday morning. And I’m sure I won’t be the only one. Here’s a prayer (words always adjusted for the next big game) that gets circulated in e-mails a lot. (This won’t be the one I say. I like to come up with my own.)
Our Favre,
Who art in Lambeau,
Hallowed be thine arm.
The bowl will come,
It will be won.
In Arizona as it is in Lambeau.
And give us this Sunday,
Our weekly win.
And give us many touchdown passes.
But do not let others pass against us.
Lead us not into frustration,
But deliver us to Arizona.
For thine is the MVP, the best of the NFC,
and the glory of the Cheeseheads,
now and forever.
Go get ‘em

Get your Packers gear before it sells out. It’s going fast in the Rock River Valley.
My favorite this year is the yellow knit cap you see the players wearing when they’re on the sidelines.

They’re out of ‘em at the Packers Pro Shop in Green Bay, too.

as i mentioned yesterday, the weather sunday is supposed to be in the single digits in green bay (it’s up to 5 degrees for a high now).
reminds me of how cold i was four years ago — jan. 4, 2004, at the seattle-green bay playoff game (i went with my husband, below). that day, it was 20 degrees, with a wind chill of 7.
man, even though you’re packed tight in that stadium and bundled to the max, it still feels good to go to the bathroom, where there are major heat vents blasting down on you.
p.s. it did snow that night, just like it did saturday.

New York Daily columnist Mike Lupica writes “Brett Favre was born to be a Packer.” Uh, yeah. And, you’re right, Mike. Don’t try telling anyone in Green Bay that “somebody else is destiny’s darling in football.”
