Politicians place bets
January 17th, 2008 at 09:23pm Anna Derocher
The governor of Wisconsin is betting the govs of New York and New Jersey (the Giants play in N.J.) that the Packers (of course) will win Sunday’s game. Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle is offering up brats (well, duh). New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine would give up tomatoes. And New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer would fork over pastrami.
The mayors of Green Bay (Jim Schmitt) and New York City (Michael Bloomberg) are wagering cheese spread, and strip steak and chocolate, respectively.
Game on.

Anna, I think we should make a bet. When the Giants win, you should have to find me some good New York pastrami. The stuff here just ain’t the same.

So, what are you offering up when your team loses?
