Eli tries to be Peyton, fails

Not only can’t he audible well, but I hear his commercial auditions suck, too.

I hope these lost timeouts don’t come back to haunt us.

Halftime high

That halftime brat shouldn’t taste all that bad, huh?
The second quarter was as encouraging as the first one was blah. Green Bay made only one big play, but it was enough to race to a 10-6 halftime edge.
Also encouraging was the way the defense slowed down the Giants. Eli Manning was poised to manage another scoring drive before halftime, only to have A.J. Hawk sack him on a fourth-down play to basically end the half.
Looks like the Packers’ biggest task at halftime is to issue an APB for Ryan Grant. He had 12 yards on 7 carries, just a little behind his production last week when he had 201 yards and 3 TDs.

Brrrrrrr

I listened to WTMJ radio from Wisconsin Dells to Rockford. Lots of good stuff. Funniest? When the guys were talking about Eli Manning’s fiance, Abby McGrew. (Don’t worry, this isn’t a Tony Romo-Jessica Simpson-type story.)

Apparently, poor Abby has to sit outside today at Lambeau. When she sits in the suites, he doesn’t play as well.

Fox Sports and several other media picked up the story.

(I’ll bet Deanna Favre, Brett’s wife, will be in a suite today. )

Eli’s dad likes Brett (who doesn’t?)

Archie Manning is a Brett Favre fan. The former Saints quarterback — and Eli and Peyton Manning’s dad — said, “If you’re a quarterback and you don’t like Brett, something’s wrong with you.”

Still, blood is blood. Archie will be cheering for his kid Sunday. I understand, Archie.

OK, Eli, Seinfeld for you

Eli will get to watch Seinfeld, after all. Should have known Sony and Seinfeld would step in and give the Giants’ QB a DVD player and the series on DVD.

Nice try, Fox 11. Nice try.

No Seinfeld for you, Eli

Are you kidding me? This is so funny.

Fox 11 in Green Bay is pulling Seinfeld the night before the game because it’s Eli Manning’s favorite show. The station is asking viewers to vote for which show should run in Seinfeld’s usual 6:30 p.m. slot.

This whole thing actually could be a Seinfeld episode.
