“Should Rockford College consider taking on a university status to better define the maturity of our structure and clarify our standing in the world community?”
In this month’s issue of the College’s quarterly newsletter, Catalyst, President Robert L. Head provides an in-depth look at the College’s 165-year history and why a move to university status may be worth considering. We invite everyone to read more about this topic in Catalyst, as well as learn more about what we’ve been up to this year. You’re sure to discover something new about Rockford’s only four-year residential college.
This is an exciting time for Rockford College as you will learn. We are coming to the close of another academic year with our 158th Commencement Ceremony taking place on May 12 (it took a few years after the charter for Rockford Female Seminary was granted to begin awarding degrees). Approximately 400 graduates will receive their degrees on Saturday. We are proud of each and every graduate and the positive impact they will undoubtedly have on this world.
If you would like to share your thoughts about the College’s consideration of university status, please direct your comments to the Advancement Office, Rockford College, 5050 E. State St. Rockford, IL 61108 or e-mail Communications@rockford.edu. We welcome your input and look forward to sharing more about these important discussions in the coming months.
