When I am out in the community or at a career fair, people tell me one of the reasons they do not go back to school and complete their bachelor’s degree is because they are “too old.” But, statistics show that so many adults are returning to college that they are no longer being considered “non-traditional” students. Recent statistics from the U.S. Department of Education show that adult students are the fastest growing educational demographic, and these numbers are steadily increasing.
Many adults are finding they need a college degree for advancement or to make a career change. With advancing technology and changing economic and employment conditions, many adults are experiencing an increasing demand to develop or update their knowledge and skills. Also as we know from the U.S. Census Bureau, the median annual income is higher for employees with a bachelor’s degree.
So, the argument that you are “too old” to go back to college is no longer valid. For those in the Rockford area, going back to college has never been so easy, affordable and effective with the Degree Completion Program at Rockford College. In approximately 24 months, depending on your specific situation, you will earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies from Rockford College – an institution that has been an integral part of the community and educating leaders for more than 165 years.
