How to help: Annie’s Locker hopes to double shoe donations for RPS kids

More than 450 pairs of shoes were donated to RPS 205 students last year through Annie’s Locker and the Share a Pair shoe drive. That’s more than enough shoes for each student at Conklin Elementary School. Elementary school principals across the district distributed the shoes to their students who still needed shoes for physical education classes, recess and school. Nashold ‘a better place’ because of Mr. Koehler

Fourth grade teacher Joel Koehler directed his students to sit in rows on the Nashold Elementary School gymnasium floor, much like any other assembly, while he took a seat nearby on the bleachers with other students and staff. It was Tuesday morning, and Principal Holly Lyman was quiet about the purpose of the assembly. Thank you, school supply donors!

We shared a story on our Facebook page earlier this week about a Lewis Lemon teacher and her generous neighbor who donated several bags of school supplies for her students: Her neighbor stopped by on Sunday and asked her to grab her car keys. “She then proceeded to unload bags and bags and bags and bags of school supplies from her trunk into my trunk.
