About Rockford University

Rockford College is a four-year, independent, co-educational institution founded in 1847 offering more than 70 majors, minors and concentrations in traditional liberal arts and professional fields. Graduate programs are offered in business (MBA) and teaching (MAT), as well as a Return-to-College accelerated bachelor’s degree completion program in management studies. The college is home to one of only 11 Phi Beta Kappa (PBK) honor society chapters in Illinois. Named by the Princeton Review as a “Best Midwestern College” and one of only 81 colleges in the nation as a “College with a Conscience.” Rockford College currently serves about 1,340 full-and part-time students.

Donna L. Harvey, Assistant Director of BSMS (the adult accelerated degree completion program) is responsible for marketing and student recruiting for the program at Rockford College. Prior to joining the College in 2009, Donna held various marketing and accounting positions within the manufacturing industry. She holds a masters degree in business administration and several certificates in quality and lean manufacturing.

 

Jeffrey Fahrenwald is the director of the MBA program and teaches in the areas of human relations, management, leadership and international studies in the MBA program. His practical work experience includes positions such as chief operating officer and director of quality and training. He continues to be an active organizational consultant and trainer focusing on strategic planning, organizational leadership, and management development. He also has served on numerous not-for-profit boards.

 

 

 

Michelle M. McReynolds, Ed.D., is Director of the Master of Arts in Teaching program. Dr. McReynolds administers and advises the graduate level education programs at Rockford College. Prior to joining the college in 2007, Dr. McReynolds was the Principal at Harvard high School in McHenry County. She holds master degrees in elementary, secondary, and K-12 education and several certifications including reading, reading specialist, special education, instructional strategies, and general and alternative education.

 

 

 

Rita Elliott is interim director of communications at Rockford College. She has worked in the communications profession in Rockford for the past 14 years, including Associate Director of College Relations and Director of Communications at Rockford College. Before returning to the College, she was a Communications Manager for Harris bank and AMCORE.

 

 

Jim Keeling is active with the “Half the Sky” initiative at Rockford College. He is an attorney with Hinshaw & Culbertson.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pam Keeling is involved with “Half the Sky” at Rockford College. She and her husband, Jim, were finalists for the 2010 Register Star’s Excalibur award.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lindsay Kent is the director of student activities and Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement at Rockford College. She has a master’s degree in business administration and teaching from Rockford College. She is married to Justen.

 

 

 

 

 

Stephanie Quinn, Ph.D., is Executive Vice President and Dean of the College with responsibility for all academic and related initiatives of the undergraduate and graduate programs; Student Life, Information Technology, Institutional Research, and the Registrar. She is an experienced academic administrator and professor, having previously served as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Millikin University, and as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at DePaul University, after almost nine years at the National Endowment for the Humanities. She earned her Ph.D. and MA degrees in Classical Studies at Vanderbilt University, and a B.A. at The College of the City of New York.

 

Brooke Shaw is a counselor at Rockford College and received her Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She is experienced in working with victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse. Also, Brooke has provided counseling to persons dealing with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, ADHD, relationship issues and low self-esteem. In addition, Brooke is active in the fight against human trafficking through her volunteer work with the Illinois Rescue and Restore Coalition.
