Successes celebrated at Rock Valley College

We love this week at RVC. This is the week we celebrate the greatest accomplishments of our students. Graduation!

Last evening The Adult Education program at Rock Valley College held its 27th annual Graduation Recognition Ceremony. Over 280 RVC students completed their General Educational Development (GED) high school equivalency during the past 12 months and celebrated this milestone with family and friends.

Tonight is the 46th annual commencement ceremony for graduates at Rock Valley College. Over 1,200 students will graduate this year, with a record 403 participating in the event. For the first time ever, the commencement ceremony will be …

The Starlight Theatre Season is one of the most popular activities or events offered at Rock Valley College. Season ticket holders and community members wait anxiously each year to learn about the lineup of productions.

My day as a Principal in RPS 205

Thursday I had the privilege of serving as Principal for a Day at Bloom Elementary School. As a parent of two RPS 205 high school students I have spent many hours volunteering in classrooms over the years, but this was my first opportunity to shadow an administrator.

Apparently I had forgotten the true meaning of the phrase “multi-task,” and I admit the pace made me realize exactly why I don’t lose weight as quickly on the same diets that were successful years ago. RVC Standing against racism

RVC professor Robert D’Alonzo, a leader of our Promoting an Inclusive Community (PAIC) committee, was instrumental in the Stand Against Racism events on campus last week. I asked him to tell me more about the events.

RVC Foundation scholarship deadline tomorrow

Pam Owens of the RVC Foundation wrote a blog recently about the scholarship application process.

Tomorrow, May 1, is the deadline for applications. If you know of a student who might be interested, please let them know. Incomplete applications cannot be accepted, so anyone who has begun the process must be sure to hit submit to complete the submission.
