Rock Valley College recognizes Adult Education and Family Literacy Week

Did you know that in Illinois, 1.8 million residents are without a high school diploma, and 2.61 million residents speak a language other than English?

Locally, over 57,000 adults are lacking a high school diploma and 30,000 adults need English as a Second Language services.

RVC Adult Education & Literacy serves 3,000 students a year, providing classes from beginning literacy to transitioning to college.  We have students that range in age from 17 to over 70 and serve students from over 75 countries. These students are increasing their reading and math levels, and preparing the move along a career pathway into postsecondary education and employment.

Adult Education not only improves the lives of our students, but also our community! To learn more about Adult Education at Rock Valley College, check out our website or call 815-921-2000.
