What’s wrong with this picture?

We think there’s something wrong in this picture that appeared in the Local&State section today. We’d like to know whether you see the same thing and draw the same conclusion that we did.

    The pedestrian mall has NO pedestrians.

    DOESNT APPEAR TO BE ANY TRAFFIC, FOOT OR VEHICULAR.

    It looks like a typical Rockford scene to me……

    Just how many businesses did that pedestrian mall kill off when it was initially built?

    It’s time to close up downtown. There is no denying that the east side is the place to be these days. When going to NAT when it was there, the first thing is a homeless person begging for money, it just isn’t the fun place it was when I was a kid. Anyone remember Penney’s, D J Stewart, Woolworths???
