		<description>On the other hand... the head of the California state police recently sent a letter to the chief of ISP asserting that medical marijuana laws in CA have basically been used as an excuse to make access to pot easier for recreational users and that it has been a disaster for law enforcement. Needless to say, CA's top cop says we should not go down the same path. Who's right? I really don't know. 
Of course, a case could also be made that law enforcement already spends too much time and effort busting pot smokers when they could be concentrating on more serious crimes. Why not just legalize it but tax it and regulate it like tobacco and alcohol? Don't allow it to be smoked in public places, and penalize driving under its influence.</description>
