A Seat at the Table

$1.59 a gallon

Although you’ll see a story on this Web site on how gas prices have not fallen as quickly as oil prices, I paid only $1.59 a gallon for gas when I filled up in Marengo yesterday.

Last weekend I traveled to Milwaukee on Saturday and into the Chicago suburbs on Sunday. No where else was the gas price even close to what I saw in Marengo.

Has anyone else seen gas that cheap?

No way! I drove into Chicago last night — Rockford prices were all about 1.95/gal and Chicago prices were .20 higher.

Way! Sometimes it pays to take the scenic route. You save two tolls and I saved almost 40 cents a gallon. On previous trips I hadn’t seen the prices that low. Glad I had the time to stay on 20 until Hampshire.

Almost forgot. Would have been $1.39 with car wash.
