Count me among the journalists who understands why all the attention has been paid to Tiger Woods’ transgressions. Of course he’s just human, but an athlete who makes his living from the adoration of fans can’t draw a bubble around himself when the headlines aren’t flattering. But for the Wall Street Journal to run a picture of Tiger’s mother-in-law on a stretcher entering an Orlando hospital? That’s beside the pale. The mother-in-law was treated and released for stomach pain. The media has to show a scintilla of restraint here.

Since when–the day it happened a local station had a helo flying over head–what were they hoping to see–restraint is not in the dictionary anymore about a lot of things!!!
Scintilla, schmintilla!
people overlook real news like the G20 and copenhagen summits becuase they are preoccupied with petty nonsense like their favorite celebrity getting a dui or who’s make up/break up it is this week.
the majority of “news” is MEANT to be a distraction from the real goings-on of this world.
Is Tiger somehow “off limits” like Obama? Are we suppose to feel sorry for him and keep a “Disneyland” phoney smile? You talk like he is somehow a victim. I hope Nike and Buick drop all his endorsements, but it will never happen. I’ve always thought he was a prop for the media, portaying this clean-cut, articulate, do no wrong Superhero. “Oh Tiger, Oh Tiger” as Jan Brady would say. Hate to rain on your parade , Jan , but he is just another womanizer now.
