Chicago is starting a bike-share program. You can read Mary Schmich HERE.
Sounds kind of cool, but I wonder how practical it really is. The prices seem a bit steep, but maybe Chicago folks and visitors don’t think it’s that much.
Could Rockford do something like this? I love to bike, but I prefer my own. I might use a rental just to check it out, but I doubt it would be a regular thing for me.
What about you? Do you think this kind of program has potential here? Who would use it and what would they use it for?
I could see maybe having rental bikes at Sportscore for soccer players to ride around between games, but I don’t see this idea catching on.

Nope. Rockford is not progressive enough nor are we bike friendly. I am a frequent cyclist and, sadly, you take your life into your own hands riding a bike in Rockford. It’s great on the limited bike paths we have but anywhere else is a struggle.
I spend a lot of time in Madison and it’s so cool to be in a bike-friendly town.
