Hillary “I’ll obliterate Iran” wins PA primary
April 22nd, 2008 at 11:32pm Chuck Sweeny
AS I predicted here Monday night, Hillary Clinton won the Pennsylvania primary. But it doesn’t bode well for Democrats, because to win she had to sound like a neo-conservative, vowing to “obliterate” Iran if it attacked Israel with nuclear weapons. Hmmm. Hill would nuke 64 million Iranians because one, goofy dictator decided to attack Israel? Wonder what the press would say if Bush said something like that? Come to think of it, I think he has.
I’ve said it to friends, and I’ll say it here: Bush I, Clinton I, Bush II, Clinton II. Can we do better? John McCain says, Yes, we can.

What could be “better” than that?!
And while we are at it, what would Hillary and McCain do if Israel attacked Iran? I mean, besides cheer loudly.
If the USA really wants a non-nuclear Middle East, then it must nuclearly disarm Israel before it can demand that Iran stop its nuclear weapon research program.
Finally, Hillary Clinton does not just “sound like a neo-conservative.” She is cut from the same cloth, supported by the same Wall Street financiers who funded GW Bush, and is as accomplished a liar as any of our brothers and sisters on the far freakin’ right.
Hillary Clinton’s priorities are these. She will say ANYTHING to get the votes of the gullible moron majority, and do ANYTHING to keep the corporate oligarchy on her side.
In short, she will do just as her hubby did, which David Frum described so well back in 1999:
The left gets words; the right gets deeds.

As I may have said somewhere, Bush I, Clinton I, Bush II, Clinton II. It’s the same crew.

Chuckles, let me ask you a question. I am sure you will have an answer.
Everyone talks about how Hillary should quit because “she cannot win.”
But I have heard other mathematical analyses also point out that… Obama can’t get to the required 2,025 delegates either! (not without a 100-0 results in remainining states, at least)
So, assuming this is true, and given that they are in a virtual dead heat in both popular vote and delegate totals….WHY exactly should she quit?
Isn’t this a little like asking the Giants to give up in the Super Bowl, in the 4th quarter, when they were down 13-10? After all, they couldn’t possibly win, either, right?

Hi, Millard. Just want to say I absolutely loved your auditorium in SF, also the Fillmore East in NYC. Ciao

Ah, how surprising. A non-answer from Chuckles. This is fascinating political analysis, I tell you. Fascinating!

Millard, Hillary is not going to quit. Feel better?
7. Millard Fillmore | April 24th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
Wow, that’s about as daring a prediction as saying she would win Pennsylvania.
Now that I asked. I am challenging the mindless conventional wisdom that she is somehow committing a capital offense by simply playing by the rules the party itself established. I

I agree with Fillmore….those calling for Hillary to quit are not being realistic. It is, essentially, a dead heat. Who would drop out in that situation. Let\’s work it out on the convention floor…although Obama\’s ability to make a good speech might mean he\’s the man, if that happens. Chuckles?

Hillary is not playing by the rules established by Howard Dean, DNC chairman. The DNC said Michigan and Florida primaries wouldn’t count because those states moved their primaries up too early.
Dean urged candidates to remove their names from the ballot, and Obama did so in Michigan, but not Florida. Hillary won both states, and now wants the delegations seated.
What’s ironic is that this is the same party whose members screamed “Count Every Vote” after the disputed 2000 election. Now, it’s count some votes, not others.

Hillary has a long history of not playing by the rules.
As a result, she has a wonderful collections of skeletons in her closet that the McCain Republicans would just love to present to the public.
From what I can see, the tactic that McCain and his pro-war buddies have chosen is:
– first to discredit and destroy Obama so that the Democrat superdelegates choose Hillary as their nominee; and then
– to swift-boat Hillary by presenting all the sleazy deals and relationships that she has been a part of over the years and thereby win the general election.
William Safire called Hillary a “congenital liar”.

Imagine what the neo-cons could do with the various misadventures he describes when Hillary becomes the Democratic nominee!
As for the Michigan and Florida primaries:
“Sen. Hillary Clinton signed a pledge not to “campaign or participate” in the Michigan or Florida Democratic primaries. She participated in both primaries and is campaigning in Florida. Which proves, again, that Hillary Clinton is a liar.”

A general election choice between McCain and Clinton would drive a lot of people like me to either sit out the election or to vote for some third party candidate.

Mr. Sweeny’s non-anwer answer is merely a display of wishful thinking. Because he has no answer, that’s what he gives. It serves Mr. Sweeny’s emotional needs rather than being insightful or analytical. It’s the sort of smoke screen we’re used to reading in newspapers. It’s why newspapers are dying a slow death.

Menlo, you’re not required to read this blog, you know. We do have others here at rrstar.com.

Chuckles: You probably haven’t considered this, but perhaps Menlo Bob *enjoys* coming to this blog to hold you accountable for your opinions and to demand of you a higher standard….hmm, very similar in nature to what you try to do in your columns, wouldn’t you say? I mean, “you’re ‘not required’ to pay attention to what happens in City Hall, you know…there are other public officials in town.”

Chuckles, that’s the best you got? A little criticism and you give everyone the you-know-what? I thought you would be more up to the challenge than that, sir.
