My predictions on NC, Indy were on target

May 7th, 2008 at 12:19am Chuck Sweeny

As for my predictions Monday on NC and Indy, I wasn’t far off.

I said  Obama would win NC, 57 to 43 percent; he actually won 56 to 42.

I said Clinton would win Indiana, 52 to 48 percent; she actually won 50.9 percent to 41.1 percent.

Your man love for Obama never ceases to amaze me. I hope he turns out to be half the leader you think he is.

    Town, I think you’ve touched a nerve.
Yes, Chuck, those were daring predictions - identical to the polling. Wow.

Chuckles, why are you getting so fired up? Ignore your critics. Let them eat cake. Your love for Obama is true and worthy of praise. We all respect and admire your ability to stand by him through thick and thin. Never have I seen a man love a politician more. You’ve ignored his faults while criticizing his opponent for much of the same things. That is something we can all respect. You have lifted him to a God-like status, refusing to admit he is a mere man who panders to voters like everyone else. Once he is elected, I think most of us will be sending you thank you notes for leading his Northwest Illiinois publicity machine. I hope Linda Grist Cunningham is allowing you to be paid by Obama forall your good work. You are someone we love and admire, Chuckles Sweeny.

Javan, thanks for the compliment. I’ve actually interviewed Obama several times, once for an hour and a half, when he was running for the Senate and wasn’t being given much of a chance. At the time he was at 3 percent in the Illinois polls. I was impressed at his command of major issues confronting both Illinois and the country.
I’ve also interviewed McCain at some length, back when he was flogging a book at the old Media Play. I was similarly impressed with his depth of knowledge and his fearlessness; as he put it, he’d already been in hell, (the Hanoi Hilton for 5 plus years) so he considered every day after his release to be a gift.
Likewise, I’ve interviewed Hillary, back when she was campaigning for her husband back in 92.
What I don’t like about her is her husband and the whole Clinton gang of grifters.
