But remember Chuck it was John McCain in 2000 who refused to pander to the Iowa corn farmers and the ethanol lobby. When all the other GOP candidates were pandering at the Iowa Straw Poll, John McCain had the honesty and the courage to basically say that ethanol is NOT a proven solution to our energy needs. This idea seems a little “flakey” as do all these ideas for bounties and huge cash prizes.
